Spitzkoppe is a spectacular group of bald granite peaks in Namibia's Pondok Mountains. The peaks stand out dramatically in the surrounding flat plains and examples of Bushmen artwork can be seen painted on the rock.

The granite is over 700 million years old and the highest outcrop rises about 1,784 metres above sea level.

Also known as the ‘Matterhorn of Namibia’ due to its similar shape, the Spitzkoppe is a wonderful natural feature that highlights Namibia's diversity and uniqueness. Overnighting at Spitzkoppe is a firm favourite to finish a school trip as it is one of the country's finest stargazing locations.
